Best Hardware For Flight Simulator X & More Discussion Points
ADDITIONAL NOTE – FSX needs CPU power more than anything else in the range of hardware in the computer. Follow my updates on twitter for the most up-to-the-minute information about my videos and channel. Thanks for watching and please post a video response. caffeinatedman.com

i have the same specs except for the gpu i hava a nvidia geforce gtx 260. I dont have any problems with it ecept that the memory ran out on my first flight . Those are great specs and you made a good decision have a great time!
i have a intel core i7-920 at 2.67 ghz, a nvidia geforce gtx 260 with 1.8 gb of memory, 12 gb of memory, and 1tb of hard drive and it works great i dont have any problems except the fact that i ran out of memory on my first game because i put the traffic at full but other than that its great!
no that is a old gpu i believe get a new card
Thanks. But what do you mean your memory ran out?
@TheLightningII um the game stops and it tells you that you ran out of memory. All you have to do is take a little traffic of because no computer can take full fsx traffic
I’ve heard the exact same thing you’re talking about in this video w/ regards to the newer hardware not playing FSX as good as the old(er) hardware.
druyda1 i have ordered the same laptop how does fsx play?
is a geforce good because i need one because my computer doesnt even have a card so i get 6 fps on low =(((((((((
When FSX first came out only to produce pathetic results on existing equipment of the time, the Aces Team’s response was to say that this program was meant to grow and take advantage of future technology. Now that the technology is here, you say that it can’t effectively be utilized by FSX (and I believe you). This confirms my suspicion that buyers of FSX were duped and I celebrate the fact that Microsoft had the wisdom to can the entire Aces Team.
FSX works great on the new generation of processors ( you dont need a fancy graphics card ) if people know how to configure it. It is only now that FSXs potential ( and of course its originial limitations ) can be seen when you add Ultmate Terrain , Extreme environment etc. I have built a new machine from this guide that cuts it in FSX and Modern Warfare.
To the poster who ran out of memory using AI at full , search for “OOM fix ” also beware that the AI engine is a frame killer.
M$ only canned them because M$ doesn’t care about PC gaming anymore . M$ duped the PC gaming community.
Hi, just curious about your PC cause I was planning to get a similar one. Is your PC able to run FSX with all settings maxed out including all types of traffic in dense cities? Did you have to overclock? If you have any add-ons, are you able to run it smoothly with add-ons? Thanks in advance.
@Kumkol1123
I will tell you shortly
Just got my computer yesterday and im installing FSX right now. hopefully it will run fine even though each core is only 2.66Ghz (FSX only uses a single core as said in the video.)
This guy is 100% correct. I have a i7-920 oc’d to 3.8g w/ 6gb of DDR3 triple channel 1600. 2 seagate 300g in RAID0. 2 ATI HD4770. It’s blazing fast! Runs fs9 w/ all settings cranked to the max…no problem. But, can’t get more than 20fps with FSX no matter what. Tweaked crossfire config and oc’d but no use. In fact, I remember reading somewhere that FSX relies on CPU and not GPU. Save $. One + is that my sys cranks out A/V editing like nobody’s business.
…Or tweak the game and save thousands of dollars.Flight Simulator X sucks so bad. Sad to see all those freaks spend money on such a bad game, while you could also fly around in GTA…
@FRURMELLL flying in GTA isn’t realistic.
Flight Simulator aims to be. And it does a good job.
fsx is a simulator, gta is not a flight simuator. i love gta so much but they didnt add planes in gta 4 so i fucked it.
get a good processor first to get good fps
well im geting a geforce 9800 gt 512mb and a new power suply (god forbid) for christmas…I hope
i see u i have a windows 7 ultamate 32 bit with a intel viva but i need to get a new one lol

This is true, my pc is quite basic, nearly the same as his, except i have2 gig of ram (hopefully four soon) and a 9600gt . It runs rather well, not at the top setting, but it get’s pretty close. Don’t go out an buy the most expensive pc you see.
I doubt it, but i want to know if my PC can run fsx.
I want to know if it can run it OK not on all high maybe low-medium.
specs:
